I dunno if I’d really consider myself a part of the sort of year zero thinking brigade that pervaded the original 77’ scene. I do hate Elvis, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, but I can’t disregard everything. every now and again, I fancy myself an intellectual and go back to try and enrich my mind and read some of the classics, gave it a try recently, I read a bit of John Donne, didn’t enjoy it particularly and gave up.
Donne was famous for his whole “No man is an island” schpiel, I think it’s more complicated than that. No man is an Island, but every man wants to be- masculine society requires you to be some sort of stoic fortress of solitude that stands tall like Yukio Mishima and provides for their “biosphere”. Theres an undeniable allure to being that sharp-suited square jawed demigod, it’s the same you see in classical propaganda, problem is, that’s now developed into the bollocks talk about the “socio-sexual hierarchy”, a recent sexifacistic development that dumbs down Nietzche’s Übermensch into “types of male”, you’ll probably have heard some gimp talking about sigma’s, alphas and betas, its all the same shit, easy fascistic othering that appeals to men in the 21st century who feel that their “masculinity” is under threat. The irrefutable peak of the masculine figure for the last century and half has been the gun, the indifferent equaliser. As the brilliant lyricist of the Manic Street Preachers – Richey Edwards – put it, “God made man, but Sam Colt made man equal”. The gun removes a man’s will to question or better themselves, the gun puts them above those without, and man craves power. Man imposes his will through the gun, and that has extended to the wills of the flesh.

In the Film adaptation of The Man Who Fell to Earth, David Bowie seductively teases a gun, a real sex pistol, in a confusingly arousing sequence. What a fantastic thing. Very awakening.

Back to the topic at hand, everything I’ve brought up has a purpose, the pseudo-sexual hierarchy and its current fetishisation in contemporary Adult Culture has it’s own roots in fascism, right back to Il Duce and the black shirts. These were stratums of men that used their positions and weaponry to exert sexual will over others – both men and women and those otherly inclined - in a way which they explicitly deemed as disgusting and reprehensible to the masses but implicitly saw as dangerous and sexually appealing.
This is happening again and will continue to happen without a moral paradigm shift.
The men in power at the top of the world are all men who have leveraged their power in this way to commit acts of sexual exploitation and violence, but instead of receiving punishment for this, they are instead pointing their grubby fingers at the visually distinctive, the queers, the immigrants and the overall “woke”, falsifying an invisible enemy that acts and behaves in the morally grotesque way that they do. Hold them accountable, do not forgive or forget what they have done, and offer the same quarter to those who do it at our level.
